DECISION INTELLIGENCE IN M&A

Protect the value of your acquisition by seeing what's missing

Financial, legal, commercial and technology diligence all test the asset. Wizer tests whether the combined leadership can make the decisions the deal thesis depends on, and shows you who should be in the room when they make them.

THE PROBLEM

Who decided who sits in each integration room?

In most deals it was a rule written in week one: direct reports of the sponsors, plus whoever had capacity. Nobody revisits it. Those rooms then make hundreds of calls about customers, systems, people and contracts, and the gaps in them surface later as costly delays, overlooked risks or lost customers.

If you run the people side of a deal, you've probably sensed a room was wrong before anyone else did. What you didn't have was evidence you could put in front of the Steering Committee

56%

of surveyed acquirers named organisation design and decision rights as a people challenge in integration, more than any other.

HOW WIZER WORKS

Build each integration group around the decisions it has to make.

Wizer shows which decision perspectives are missing or overrepresented across both leadership teams, then helps you find the people in either organisation who can contribute what each decision needs. Seniority and reporting line stop being the only way in.

Decision Profiles

Maps how each leader on both sides approaches a decision, across seven profiles grounded in Dr Juliet Bourke's research.

Panel Strength

Tests each workstream against the decision in front of it. It looks at thinking styles present and absent, the experience mix from strategic to frontline, and diversity signals.

Recommendation Engine

Names the people who close the gap, from either company and any level.

ILLUSTRATIVE DEAL

WHERE WIZER FITS

Three moments in the deal where the composition of the room matters most.

BEFORE

DUE DILIGENCE, THE PEOPLE

Map the target's leadership during management presentations, and the acquirer's where access allows. A gap found before close can still shape the retention list, the warranties and the first appointment the combined business makes.

A named workstream alongside financial, legal, commercial and technology diligence.

Does the target's leadership have the range to deliver the thesis you're paying for?

DURING

INTEGRATION

Panel Strength on every workstream shows where decision styles will clash and where a perspective is absent. The Recommendation Engine names who should join each decision, including capable people on both sides who would never be invited by default.

Inside the IMO and SteerCo, where workstreams get staffed.

Which joint decisions are most at risk, and is the right person in each room?

POST

VALUE REALISATION

A lighter recurring view for the board on how decisions are being made and where the team still needs support while synergies are captured.

Alongside synergy tracking and value-capture reporting.

Is the combined team making decisions well as the operating model settles?

FOR CONSULTANTS

Built for the people who run the people side of a deal.

People and organisation advisers, integration consultants and boutique PMI firms hold the client relationship. Wizer gives you the mapping, the platform and a finding your client can't produce internally, because it takes independent analysis across both organisations.

Partners run Wizer inside their own engagements with support through the Consultants Hub, and bring it back at integration and value realisation.

IF YOU RUN THE INTEGRATION

Staff every workstream on evidence you can defend.

For IMO and integration leads, CHROs on transactions and private equity operating partners. Map both leadership teams before you allocate anyone, then see which rooms are exposed and who from either side should join them.

When you think a room is wrong, you'll have something to show your executive.

PROVEN LIVE MERGER

An M&A consultant brought Wizer into a merger where the wrong people kept ending up in strategic decision meetings. With Decision Profiles, Panel Strength and the Recommendation Engine setting the mix in each room, the integration ran more smoothly, trust between the two teams rose and there were fewer conflicts along the way.

Client example as reported by the consultant

Make better-informed integration decisions and keep what you paid for.

Less avoidable friction and delay, and the customers, talent and value you acquired still there at month eighteen. Wizer sits alongside your culture, HR and leadership diligence and adds the view of how decisions are being made.
